The 2011 Chicago Mini Tango Festival registration is going on right now. This festiival, the sixth annual festival, will be at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare from Thursday, April 14 until Sunday, April 17, 2011. Save cash by booking early. You can get special early bird rates by purchasing tickets before January 1, 2011. All Instructors are from Buenos Aires. They include:Maria Plazaola, Blas Clemente Catrenau, Enriqueta Kleinman, Ricardo Viqueira,Gustavo Benzecry, and Maria Olivera. The festival also has a special rate at the hotel ($115 per night for one to four people)

The Los Angeles De Tango Festival 2010 is approaching. The sixth anniversary festival takes place November 11-14, 2010 Superstars Of Dance champions, Miriam Larici & Leonardo Barrionuevo, will appear. Claudio Villagra & Romina Levin, Daniela Pucci & Leonardo Barrionuevo and many other dance stars will also be present at the festival. Korey Ireland and Adeline Schieferstein are heading to Atlanta from October 15 to 17. This is the first time the pair are visiting Atlanta and Atlanta Tango have prepared an exciting program. Korey Ireland is a composer and tango enthusiast. He started dancing on social dance floors of the great tango capitols of the world. He hails originally from Kansas City but has spent years travelling the world teaching tango (England, The Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Russia and in Argentina). This past November he led "Monster Orchestra" of Tango de los Muertos and released a live CD . Adeline Schieferstein is a very sought after dancer and instructor who works in Berlin.Among th places she teaches is Mala Junta (the largest tango school in Berlin). She is a guest instructor at other schools. She has ten years of jazz dance training, seven of tango (much of that in Buenos Aires) and many other qualifications I am too lazy to list. Sunday, 10/17 at 2:15 pm Crossed System Vals and at 4 pm Multiple Axis Turns at the GYM at the Peachtree Presbyterian Church. Weekend prices are four workshops for $90 ($60 for students with ID), one day workshops for $50 ($35 for students). Individual workshops for $30 ($20 for students). You do not need to come with a partner but if you do there is a special four workshop pass for couples for $150 ($130 when one partner is a student, $110 when both are students). St Petersburg, Florida will be the site of Eddy & Veronica Hernandez Trill’s 4th Tango Gala Festival, November 12-14. The festival will also include the second production of the two dancer/instructor’s show, Amor de Tango, El Amor Augmenta. Last year’s Amor de Tango, The Beginning was a big success with a nearly full audience and sold out VIP tickets (these were all gone two weeks in advance). The Tango Mujer Mini Festival takes place from September 24-26 in Austin and September 27-28 in San Antonio and features Fernanda Ghi and Daniela Arcuri. Special guests include Guillermo Merlo (Master Teacher from Argentina) and more. There will be a welcome party at Milonga Del Norte with live music, show, workshops and more. As the name of the event suggests this is a festival about women in Tango and the evolution of women in the dance.
